1. Securing Our LTC Future

Our goal is:

1.1 To establish our LTC redevelopment plan.

The key initiatives necessary to meet this goal will include: i) submitting an achievable commitment to MOHLTC for redevelopment; ii) identifying our preferred retrofit and/or redevelopment option; iii) determining a realistic redevelopment budget; iv) setting a realistic redevelopment schedule.

1.2 To balance the capital requirements of redevelopment and the existing building.

The key initiatives necessary to meet this goal will include: i) completing a building conditions assessment; ii) establishing a long-term capital investment plan.

1.3 To expand fundraising capacity.

The key initiatives necessary to meet this goal will include: i) establishing a working committee with a fundraising mandate; ii) generating a fundraising strategy; iii) implementing a fundraising campaign.

2. Bringing People Together for Success

Our goal is:

2.1 To build on the existing community network of engaged neighbours and partners.

The key initiatives necessary to meet this goal will include: i) strengthening community relations and strategic alliances; ii) expanding community engagement activities and volunteerism.

2.2 To inspire our people to excel and grow in their roles.

The key initiatives necessary to meet this goal will include: i) enhancing our staff development program; ii) enhancing the volunteer experience; iii) strengthening our governance.

3. Diversifying Our Mission

Our goal is:

3.1 To become a service hub for our rural community.

The key initiatives necessary to meet this goal will include: i) reaching out to future residents and their caregivers as they wait to move into the Care Centre; ii) exploring new opportunities to partner and integrate with other providers; iii) operating a private, not-for-profit community service agency.

3.2 To promote an age-friendly and healthy community.

The key initiatives necessary to meet this goal will include: i) contributing to the conversation on eldercare issues in our community; ii) becoming a community resource for older adults and their

  • It is very gratifying to see that which a much smaller community achieved with an initiative started 35 years ago continues to change to meet new requirements.
    The plan to work with other services to seniors makes this project even more special.
